The Toyohashi University of Technology (“University”) will appropriately handle personal information based on the Act on the Protection of Personal Information Held by the Incorporated Administrative Agencies, etc. (Act No. 59 of 2003) and other related laws and regulations regarding the protection of personal information set by the University. The manner in which the Institute for Research on Next-generation Semiconductor and Sensing Science (IRES²) website (“Site”) acquires, uses, and protects the personal information of users is described in this section.

Acquisition of personal information

On this site, personal information (e.g., individual name, address, telephone number, date of birth) is obtained when receiving inquiries, requests for materials, applications for various courses, etc.

 

Purpose of use of personal information

The personal information acquired by the University on this site is used only for responding to inquiries, sending materials, providing information on various courses, and providing guidance on University services.

 

Management of personal information

Personal information provided by users will be appropriately managed by appointed protection managers and staff in each department of the University.
The University will also take necessary measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and appropriately manage personal information.

 

Provision of personal information to third parties

The University will not provide personal information under its management to third parties, except in cases based on the consent of the concerned party or as required by law.
When outsourcing work related to the handling of personal information, the University will draft a contract that specifies obligations such as confidentiality regarding personal information, matters relating to restrictions or conditions on subcontracting, and matters relating to restrictions such as copying or personal information. The University will also confirm in writing necessary matters such as those related to the management system of the responsible party at the outsourced company and the inspection of the status of personal information management.
