As a target of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Next Generation X-nics Semiconductor Creation Center” project, the Tokyo Institute of Technology is the representative institution, and Toyohashi University of Technology and Hiroshima University are collaborating as core partner institutions to promote the establishment of the Integrated Green-niX Research and Human Resource Development Center, which is engaged in integrated research and development of innovative semiconductor integrated circuits and the development of human resources capable of managing such research and development from a bird’s eye view. The university, which has a deep network with technical colleges nationwide, will conduct the “FY2023 Integrated Green-niX Human Resource Development Program Integrated Circuit Fabrication Training” to nurture young people with advanced technical knowledge, such as technical college students, to become leaders in the next generation of the semiconductor industry. This practical training aims to develop young people into high-level human resources who can apply the specialized skills they have developed since their technical college days to semiconductor manufacturing by providing them with practical basic skills related to semiconductor manufacturing.
This practical training program is an innovative approach for students of technical colleges in Japan, as it is a recurrent program for working people that has been offered by Toyohashi University of Technology since its opening to students of technical colleges.
Students will be able to understand the semiconductor manufacturing process and experience firsthand the joy and satisfaction of manufacturing by working in a clean room and using silicon wafers themselves to fabricate integrated circuits, which cannot be done at a technical college.<\/p>\r\n
